The starting hourly rate for this position is $23.49.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs all duties related to unloading barges.
  • Performs general housekeeping related to the barge operation.
  • Performs all work safely and efficiently.
  • Performs all other assigned work, either verbally assigned or written orders
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required
  • Light mechanical skills and basic math aptitude
  • Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to write legibly and to complete reports related to unloading barges
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular and repeated basis
  • Ability to climb ladders and/or steps up to 20 feet
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety and operating instructions
  • Ability to work in enclosed areas, such as barges, wing tanks, etc.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, ranging from -10 degrees to 130 degrees
  • Ability to work in noisy areas (up to 90 decibels) and dusty conditions
  • Ability to work around water at depths up to 100 feet
  • Ability to bend, use shovel and broom
  • Ability to work with paint using spray gun and paint brush
  • Must be able to enter through small openings (barge manholes)
  • Ability to coordinate product barge movement to minimize downtime
